Screenprint Workshop
Logo 26 Stock

Welcome to the 26th floor of the Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall

Since the opening of the Elbphilharmonie, we have been collaborating with 3 Hamburg artists/studios to create unique art prints each season. These are printed by hand using the silkscreen process and are strictly limited.

About the artists

  • Grace Helly "Make music beautiful" is the motto of Grace Helly Graphics aka Antje Schröder. As a young girl she made samplers with homemade covers for her friends and dreamed of designing covers for her favorite bands. In 2004 she became a freelance graphic designer and made her dream come true. Her passion for gig posters began in 2005 at the SXSW festival in Texas, and today she produces her own screen prints.

Workshop Visit

Elbphilharmonie to hang up! How the coveted art prints and concert posters are made: A visit to the three Hamburg silk-screen printers offers fascinating insights into the elaborate printing process.

  • Spiegelsaal is a design/illustration/screen printing studio based in Hamburg, Germany, founded by Torsten Jahnke and Jochen Mönig. In addition to branding for musicians and festivals, they specialize in gig posters - and see hand-silk-screened, limited-edition art prints as one of the few remaining ways for fans to appreciate music in a tangible way. Because for them: "You can't worship an mp3, you can't hang it on your wall, and you can't hug it."

  • Alex Hanke works as a freelance designer in the fields of graphic design, illustration and packaging design. His love for music first led him to play bass in various bands, but later he switched to design. Since then, he has created posters, flyers, packaging and t-shirts for various bands and solo artists. Since 2008 he presents and distributes his art on his own label " Studio Zum Heimathafen".
